Graham Clark is a visionary Director of Photography who has spent the last 22 years creating powerful visual stories through a range of television formats, from drama and comedy to long-form telenovelas, passionately showcasing the unique cultures and beauty through the camera’s lens.
A little about me
Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa and newly based in Dubai, my passion for cinematography and visual storytelling began at a young age, when I first held a camera in my hands and knew at once what I wanted to do with my life.
Even in my early years, as a loader and focus puller, I always sought out ways to collaborate with local filmmakers and production houses, honing my skills and gaining valuable experiences that would shape my style and inform my vision.
As my reputation for capturing “the essence of the story” grew, I started to collaborate with
renowned directors, working on major local TV series, working alongside a diverse crew of cultures and talents across Southern Africa.
Through the years I have continued to push the boundaries of my craft, experimenting with innovative filming techniques like steadycam and gimble stabilizers and embracing the latest technologies to elevate storytelling to new heights.
I believe that filmmaking offers a powerful tool for young generations to explore and communicate their complex and divergent realities. That’s why I am actively engaged in mentoring aspiring young filmmakers, offering my experience and skills to help foster the next generation of South African talent, while promoting the importance of diversity in storytelling.
In my own work, I hope to continue contributing to the art of cinematography, proving that camera and lighting can work together, revealing the world's beauty and soul.
